Del Monte's Cash for Classrooms $25 Giveaway (2 winners)

Schools were hit hard this year with budget cuts, so Del Monte is running a online contest called "Teacher Monday: Cash for Classrooms."

“Monday’s can be difficult for all of us, but public school teachers face even bigger challenges these days with the largest budget cuts in 30 years expected this academic year,” said Dennis Christou, Vice President, Marketing, North America for Del Monte Fresh Produce. “Larger classrooms and far less supplies are putting enormous pressure on our teachers. The “Teacher Monday” program was designed to take some of the burden off teachers, many who pay for school supplies out of their own pockets. It will also provide teachers with tools and incentives to incorporate healthy eating messages into their curriculums, giving us an opportunity to help school children eat and live healthier,” Christou added.

To enter, teachers just need to visit www.fruits.com and register. Each week, the top ten teachers with the most votes will win $750 to spend on school supplies and $250 in Del Monte fresh fruit coupons. In addition, each winning US classroom is linked to a classroom in Guatemala or Costa Rica, who will also win $1000 each for school supplies.

This is a great contest for teachers to enter, especially when so many spend their own money on school supplies. There is actually a teacher in my local school district who I have been voting for daily and I can't wait to see if she might win.
