The Nutria Frog Kingdom- Book Review and Giveaway

My two boys love to read. So I am always excited when I can introduce them to a new book. Recently I had the chance to review the book The Nutria Frog Kingdom by Bayou Bennett. In the story, two cousins Randy and Tina learn about the Nutria Frogs as they explore the swamps of Louisiana. The King of the Nutria Frogs, King Leo, tells them that the nutria-frogs are in danger due to pollution and a hurricane. He explains that they can help the nutria-frogs by taking care of the swamp and remembering to recycle and not to litter. Many of the nutria-frogs were stuck in water under heavy garbage due to litter and trash. After cleaning up part of the swamp, the two cousins decide to get the whole town involved. As a result of planting trees, cleaning up the town, and conserving energy, the nutria-frog kingdom improved. I thought that this book was a great way to teach children about the importance of taking care of the Earth, and that even little tasks can make a big difference.

Included with the book was a CD by Washboard Leo Thomas. We enjoyed listening to the music in the car. It definitely made me want to dance around!
