WordGirl: Tricks & Treats DVD Review

Word Up! My kids love WordGirl, and I don't mind them watching the show on TV or DVD because not only is it entertaining, but it teaches kids great vocabulary. WordGirl is about a 5th grade superhero, Becky Botsford, who keeps her identity hidden from her family and friends. She and her monkey sidekick Captain Huggy Face fight the city's villains with her super power of knowledge.

My boys were so excited when the newest DVD release of WordGirl came in the mail. Of course, they had to watch it right away. "WordGirl: Tricks & Treats" features eight episodes and 16 vocabulary words such as eerie, memorize, and famished. My kids loved all of the shows on the DVD, but their favorite is the first episode, called Tobey's Tricks and Treats. In this episode, one of Becky's classmates, Tobey, gets upset when he loses a costume contest, and thus decides to ruin Halloween by stealing all the candy. He sends out his robots to accomplish his plan, but of course WordGirl saves the day.

Released just in time for Halloween, you can buy it for $14.99. The runtime is approximately 100 minutes. The DVD also comes with interactive games, coloring pages, and information for parents. I would definitely recommend this DVD.

Disclosure: I was sent a copy of WordGirl: Tricks & Treats by M80 on behalf of Paramount Home Entertainment to review . No other compensation was received. All opinions are my own and are my honest opinion of the product.
