Journey 2: The Mysterious Island Combo Pack Review

It is not too often that we take our boys to the movie theater. By the time you buy the tickets and add in the popcorn and soda, it can be rather pricey. And our boys do not always like to sit for a long time. So when we decide to take them to a movie, we make sure to choose one that we know that the whole family will love. The last movie we went to as a family was Journey 2: The Mysterious Island in 3D. Since it was a hit with the whole family, I was excited to be able to review the combo pack. Here is the synopsis of the movie:

The follow-up to the 2008 hit! The new journey begins when young adventurer Sean (Josh Hutcherson) receives a coded distress signal from a mysterious island where no island should exist-a place of strange life forms, mountains of gold, deadly volcanoes, and more than one astonishing secret. Unable to stop him from going, Sean's new stepfather (Dwayne Johnson) joins the quest. Together with a helicopter pilot (Luis Guzman) and his beautiful, strong-willed daughter (Vanessa Hudgens), they set out to find the island, rescue its lone inhabitant and escape before seismic shockwaves force the island under the sea and bury its treasures forever.

Our thoughts: When my boys learned that The Rock was in the movie, we knew that it would be a hit. My boys love wrestling and of course, The Rock is one of their favorites. There is plenty of excitement throughout the whole movie to keep my boys entertained as they watch the adventures of Sean and his stepfather. Here are a few highlights of the movie:

1) Sean runs into his grandfather on this mysterious island, who happens to be the sole inhabitant of the island.
2 ) Sean's stepfather tries to give him advice on girls and shows him the Pec Pop of Love!
3) The Rock singing his version of What a Wonderful World.
4) Watching the cast ride on bees.

I would recommend this movie because not only is it full of adventure, but it captured my boys interest-which is not always an easy thing to do.

Disclosure: I received a copy of the movie to review. No other compensation was received. All opinions are my own and my honest opinion of the movie.
