Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure Review

I have to admit, that I have never seen High School Musical. But I was still excited to have the opportunity to review Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure on DVD and Blu-Ray. This story stars Ashley Tisdale, who reprises her role as Sharpay Evans, an aspiring actress with big dreams. Here is a brief synopsis of the movie:

Just how fabulous do you have to be to make it big in the Big Apple? One aspiring diva is about to find out... the hard way! Ashley Tisdale shines in this totally captivating comedy.

After a talent scout spots her performing with her dog Boi at a charity gala, Sharpay Evans (Tisdale) sets off for the bright lights of NYC, convinced instant fame and fortune are in the bag (designer bag, that is). But theatre's a dog-eat-dog world, as she and Boi discover when they encounter the devious owner of a pampered pooch named "Countess" and a scheming Broadway starlet who will do anything to crush the competition. Fortunately, Sharpay also meets Peyton (Austin Butler), a handsome student filmmaker who finds Sharpay nearly as fascinating as she finds herself. Sparkling with fun, fashion and fantastic bonus features, Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure will make your whole family stand up and cheer!

Here is a three minute sneak peek of the movie:

My thoughts: I thought that the movie was adorable. When I was younger, dancing was a huge part of my life, and of course there were times where I dreamed about dancing and acting on Broadway, so I can relate to the dream of Sharpay to make it big in New York City. Sharpay is quite spoiled and thinks very highly of herself, but she learns to overcome the hardships that are thrown her way. She arrives in NYC with the idea that she will be the star of the new Broadway Musical, but learns that the casting director only wanted to audition her dog instead. Despite, the setback she tries her hardest to help her dog earn the role in the musical. She learns that life is not always easy and she needs to work to make her dreams come true. Sharpay is quite the diva, and loves everything pink. And I love her dog, Boi, who reminds me of my own adorable Yorkie. As the adventure progresses, I enjoyed watching Sharpay transform from a spoiled, selfish, rich girl, into a Broadway star who learns what's really important in life. After watching this movie, maybe I should now check out High School Musical.

Disclosure: I received a copy of the DVD in exchange for this post. All opinions are my own and are my honest opinion.
