As a parent, I believe one of our wishes for our children is that they will be both happy and healthy. Over the past year, we have heard alot about the healthcare plan, as well as the scare of the H1N1 virus. I know for my family, that this past school year has been full of sickness. I do not think there has been one month without someone being sick. I also found out myself that I am Vitamin D deficient.
We may not be able to prevent sickness, but taking care of ourselves and our family should be a top priority in our lives. However, our lifestyles do not always show it. It is so easy to sit on the couch and watch tv or eat fast food.
Last weekend I was emailed about the GE Healthymagination initiative. This initiative is to encourage "women to take an active role in their own health and the health of their loved ones through Pledge for Better Health."
Sounds like a great idea. So I took the pledge. My pledge is to eat healthier and to get outside with my children more often.
In order to encourage my readers to take the pledge, GE has offered me the chance to giveaway a $20 gift card to Dick's Sporting Goods.
Here's how to win:
Mandatory Entry-Make your own pledge at Pledge for Better Health and leave a comment with the link to your pledge. After you have made your pledge, you will be provided with a link.
1) Make additional pledges and leave a separate comment with the link to each of your pledges.
2) Become a follower of my blog through google connect (this counts if you are already a follower too.)

By making a pledge, you not only have the opportunity to win the giveaway, but you could help me out too. There is a prize for the blogger that encourages the most pledges.
This giveaway will end April 23, 2010 at 11:59 pm. It is for US residents only. The winner will be chosen using random.org and will be notified by email. The winner will then have 48 hours to respond or a new winner will be chosen.
Disclosure: I did not receive any compensation for this post. I am participating in a contest where the blogger who encourages the most pledges wins a grand prize. I was emailed about the chance to offer my readers this great giveaway. Any opinion given is my own.
